QT-hyposalinity HELP!
I am going to buy a 20 gallon QT tank tomorrow and I am going to purchase tank, hood, filter, heater and something for them to hide behind/under. I have read posts that you shouldn't add substrate or sand. Is that correct??
Also, I am trying to get a grasp on the process that I should take with all new fish that I am QT. I understand that you should do it with all fish for appox 3 weeks. Correct?? What should I do with them when they are being QT?????? I hear alot about hyposalinity but I can't find any info on it. I am really confused in this area! Please help me on getting the right medications and stuff.

Well, you're right on target with setting up a QT. Did you check out the FAQ section stickied to the top of this forum?
Hyposalinity is a topic we have really discussed here, and we are now also suggesting that hobbyists hypo their new fish while they are in QT [even if they do not have ich]. I would suggest that you use the Search feature here at the top right window and look up info on hypo. You should get all your questions answered, but, if not, post back and we will address them.
