QT question

hi all! I have a question regarding qt setup.
I have a 25 gal tank with fluoridized bed filter.
As i understood, the new coming fish should be put first into qt. For how long time? Should i give some treatment or not? I heard about 2 different ways.1st is to put fish and to keep it there for a while and to see if the fish will have decease outbreak, then treat. The problem with the 1st one is that the decease outbreak may come after the fish moved into display tank. 2nd way is to treat the new coming fish right after it has been arrived.
So, what is the best way?

I would definately go for the second method with what I've heard. I've heard from people on this board that every fish has some degree of disease on them and that by treating them, you help increase their chance of them winning against it. Therefore, it would be best to treat the fish with medication for 21 days (the amount of time the parasite can live without a host)
