What is the minimum size QT I could have, I have a total lack of space.
Also, what filter etc would i use in it - would a Fluval type be any good?
Would I be able to set it up when I knew i was buying new fish or would it need to be running all the time.
Sorry so many questions - I'm a bit dim lol

The minimum size QT is totally dependant on what type of fish you will be QT'ing..
You basically don't want to QT a naso tang or a big grouper in a 10 gal tank. It's just common sense. My QT is a 29 gal.
As for filtration, this time it's dependant on the size of the tank. For my 29gal, I chose to go with an Emperor 400. Maybe a 280 would have been sufficient though. I don't see why a Fluval 204/304 would be bad though. Although I chose an Emperor due to the bio-wheels, and the fact that everyone loves this filter.
As with any tank, it has to be cycled. Which means that it has to be setup atleast one month before adding fish to it, and has to be kept running (cycled) either by adding food every now and then, or keeping a fish in there.
If not, you'd have to do daily water changes to keep the water levels nominal.
Hope that helps..
Can anyone add to this?
