QT SG question?

Someone I talked to at my lfs told me that a qt at 1.009 is "brackish" not hypo. She said hypo is something like 1.016?

No, the measurement to cure ich is 1.009. I have read some old literature that suggests using the higher SG for hypo, but it doesn't work, thus stick with the 1.009.
