QT Tank and Water Change

Hi all. Once my 20 gal QT tank has cycled, can I use it as a water change station as well? I have a 50 gal FOWLR w/ some inverts.
The 20 gal has just water, hang on filter, heater and powerhead. There are some fluval media stones (just a few I can toss out if need be) for a place for bacteria to grow. Can I use 10 gal a week from the cycled QT for the 50 gal h20 change and then replace the water in the QT?

Darn, more work! All that hauling water, mixing & aging. One problem I seem to have is that my good clean R/O water somehow read with ammonia after a day or two in the clean (used only for water) containers. I don't understand. Looking into another water source (different place).

Also with my NitrAtes at 80 from my 50 gal, should I still change out cycling qt w/ that water?
