i had posted in the this in another forum but recieved no replies.
i have had four fish go through qt without any problem. they are doing great in the dt . i recived a blonde naso tang from swf.com. i put him in the qt but he would not eat. tried everthing i could get my hands on. i lost him about 3 days later.
i want to try another one not sure if i qt him right, or i did something wrong. the qt tank is 20 long, bare bottom, pvc pices, ehiem power filter(sponges were in sump for 2 weeks.) heater and power head. i use water from the dt for daily water changes.
water parmeters are well within range. looking for some help or advise.
thanks roy

Sounds as though you are pretty meticulous with the water in the QT, sometimes fish just don't ship well.
I have to be honest, I would never QT a Tang in a 20 though, I only had a 25 tall QT when I got my Sohal, so straight to the DT he went. Not a popular answer I know, but I liked his chances in a big comfy display a lot better than in a tiny QT...I don't mind the ick risk until I get a bigger QT.

when i got my hippo he went right into the DT. not becauswe i dont have a QT but because i knew i would lose him. i have a 20g tank an i knew he wouldnt like it at all in there. if you order another tang from SWF.com i would say just acclimat him and you should be fine. just make it a long accl. probly a couple of hours if it was me. i got mine from a lfs and i let him acclimate for about 5 hours before i put him in. just my 2 cents

there live stock seem to good. i have no complates at all. cost 17.oo $ to ship but i had other items with it.
i friend of mine told me the same thing, just drip aclimate and put in the dt, i just did want to risk itch or any other diease.
