alright here is the situation!
55gal
pH 8.2
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Nitrate - 20, but getting better!
tank is about 14 months old. i have about 60lbs of live sand and about 45-50 lbs of live rock.
Fish:
2 maroon clowns, one seems fine and the other has one spot of ich on rear anal fin
1 blue hippo tang, when i first got her she got ich, it went away with hyposalinity. that was about 8 months ago. no signs since. until 5 days ago.
1 yellow tang, has never shown ich, always bright colored. today i noticed 2 small spots of ich on her.
3 cleaner shrimp, have had 1 for almost a year and just recently added 2 more to help with the ich. i guess i was hoping on that
1 long tentacle anemone, only one clown (smaller one) is hosting the anemone. that is also the fish with the spot of ich.
couple of turbo snails and a couple of blue legged hermits in there as well.
okay, problem is that my QT tank was broken (2 yr old daughter) and have not made time to get another one setup (regretting that now)
here is what i have been doing, as i did last time and this worked, but i dont think i will be this lucky this time. i have been doing hyposalinity and finally got my skimmer back on here (pulling a lot of froth, to help with nitrates)
what can i do at this time to prevent the loss of my fish? i do not want my rock to suffer. the anemone is not of concern (she will have a new home if need be)
please help me out!

PS: QT tank will be set up again when i have extra money to drop on another tank, but right now i am stuck with the main tank. ALSO no corals or anything to worry about.

Get a larger rubbermaid from the local dimestore and put all your inverts in it as well as the LR. [I'm assuming you have no corals, polyps?]. Add PHs to the rubbermaid to keep water circulated well.
Then, hyposalinity in the main tank following the procedure outlined in the FAQ Thread exactly.

Thanks for the response beth.
I have a rubbermaid trash can I use for saltmixing, I should take all my rock and place it in the trashcan. Even my cleaner chrimps? Or they are okay in main tank with hypo?
Also will live sand be okay?
The anemone will need to goto friends tank for the mean time....

I would use a square-ish rubbermaid like you find at walmart. Something that has kinda the dimensions of a tank. LR and inverts need to go in this and make sure that you have good circulation. Use water from your tank to fill this rubbermaid. You will need to drain out a lot of water for hypo anyway.
No inverts in hypo tank, only fish. Sand will be fine, but if you have snails, or critters in sand, then they will die off, so remove as much of that as possible.
