QT tank question

I'm going to set up a QT. Is 10 gal to small for a QT? Can I set it directly on the floor or do I need to have it on a stand for the tank? I know I need to paint the bottom and get some PVC or some small fake rock to allow the fish to hide.
Thanks

I just set up my 10g on a coffee table and it's been fine so far, I haven't gone through hyposalinity yet with my ich-diseased fish, but as long as the bottom of the tank is a dark color of somesort I think you're okay. I think it'd be best to have them elevatated somewhat vs. directly on the floor but I'm not sure it'd make that big of a difference. I put 2 very small pieces of LR with a fake rock I bought for 10 bux at petsmart in the qt, workin out as well as it could for now. good luck.

You can set up a 10gal as long as you understand fish going into that tank, will need to be smallish. I would not setup on the floor. You need to be able to observe the fish for diseases, health, etc. That is part of the process of QT [being able to observe the fish closely]. So, unless you want to be crawling around on the floor frequently, come up with some kind of stand. A cheap medal stand will work fine, an old table too.
