Hi, I just purchased an Emporer 280 hang on filter for my 25 gallon quarenteen tank two weeks ago. I love it because it has two large chambers for filter media and a large biowheel for wet/dry filtration to help keep the amonia and nitrates down. It has a 280 gallon flow rate and a button to turn down the flow rate during feeding. If you look on line you can get a good price, or they are readily in stock at most LFS. Make sure you cycle the tank or at least add a bag of live agronite and some cured live rock before you put in the fish. I did all this and added some cycle bacteria liquid and put in my one fish (a bicolor blenny) the first day with a 17 lb. cured live rock. Nitrates and amonia have yet to go above zero and the tank has been up for twelve days. I did a 5 gallon water change every five days as I am afraid it will cycle on me and harm the fish. So far, no cycle. I also added four little hermits and a snail. On day 8 I added a fairy wrasse. This is all I plan to add to the quarinteen tank until I move the fish into the larger tank. I don't recommend not cycling a tank, but I was in a hurry and did not want to wait a month. I have been checking the amonia and nitrates daily. They never went up, but I am doing the frequent water changes (with vacuuming of the agronite) because I don't want to press my luck using an uncycled tank setup like this. Lesley
