If you know a fish at a LFS has been there for a month disease free, do you need to QT it or can it go into your DT. Other fish that look healthy have been introduced to the same tank over the time period.

The point of a QT is to ensure the fish is healthy. Ick can manifest itsfelt for some time. So lets say your yellow tang has been at the LFS for a month and very healthy. Lets say that LFS gets shipments every week. It would have had three weeks to be introduced to sick fish and then even longer for a disease to show. IE> QT all fish.

Removing fish from your LFS and bringing it home stresses fish which they can very easily get ich or anything else . Also there could be parasites that your LFS or you didn`t see until it`s too late . Always QT fish .
