quarantine or not?

When my tank finishes cycling and I'm ready for my first fish (in a FOWLR system), do I have to quarantine the first one since it will be alone in the tank? My thinking is since it w8ill be alone for the first month anyway, if something arises like ich, I can hyposalinate in my main tank since no other fish or inverts are there. After that, of course, I'll have to quarantine all others.
Is my logic flawed or would it be ok for the first fish to go straight into the show tank after acclimating?

I would quarantine. if you treat for ich in your main tank, you may never be able to keep inverts.
another thing, fishes seem to want to hide for the first week or more. If you put the fish directly in the main tank with all the rock, you may not see the fish for 2 weeks. where in a QT that is relatively barron, you can closely observe the fish and anything that may be wrong with it.

I just cycled my tank and bought a few damsels to put into it. I got them home from the store and put them in a QT tank. Sure enough after a few days in there they started to develop Ich. GOod thing they were in QT so I can treat with hypo and copper and my snails and crabs and LR in my main tank are perfectly fine. I just think it's a great precaution.
