Ques. about mounting a light

I have a new 36'' hamilton light fixuture with 2 175mh and 2 96 cf coming in on Tuesday however i dont know how im going to mount it to the tank. Hanging is not an option. I cant find legs anywhere for this light. does anyone know where i can look for some diy help?
Also... right now i dont have a lid on my tank. the guy at the manf. for hamilton told me that i should just put the glass lid back on and then put the new fixture directly on that. he said this would also slow down my evaporation rate.... wont this make my tank boil? i dont have a chiller.

It wont boil it, but will heat your tank up, as well as cut down on your oxygenation. It will also likely cause the glass top to break. Stupid rep.

What about attaching some brackets to the wall, if it has one behind it, then it can set on those?
