question about acclimation cleanup crews

my tank just finished cycling, and i just done a 50% water change (10 minutes ago) my LFS told me i could put snails and hermit crabs in right after that water change, just wonder is he right or i should wait a day before dump them in? also he told me i dont need to acclimate those snails and crabs. should i acclimate them anyway?(i got them from my LFS, only 20 minutes trip between my home and the store)
also, is 78-79F(night) and 82F(day) are good temperture range? my light heats up the water alot during the day
by the way, anyone know a salt water plant that will help reduce nitrate? i want to get 1 and put it in 1 of those small container unit(the one you can put it inside a tank and made out of plastic web thing)

I went on this site, they have acclimation times and for crabs it's about an hour. Yes, I would acclimate them. I don't know when you should add them tho. Someone else will have to answer that.

but their acclimation is for stuffs that shipped over night, my LFS told me because the time it took me to travel between their store and my home are very short, i do not need to acclimate them (snails and hermit crabs only, he told me to acclimate any other stuffs if i want to get them) so i just wondering if i need to acclimate those cleanup crews

i dont think thats right at all. The water in your lfs is not the same as what you have at home and the water in the bag dose cool down in the time it takes you to drive home.
even small chanages can kill saltwater fish and stress them out so i say acclimation is the best way to add to your tank.

okie, i got 2 bags of cleanup crews from my LFS, came from 2 different tanks. should i acclimate them separately or i should dump them together? (somehow i dont think dump together is a good idea o.o)

do each in its own bag more work but thats what id do.
let me ask you one thing you have two bags ? do both have clean up crew in them?

yes, 1 bag is snails and the other bag is crabs
also my tank's pH is around 7.9-8.0, is it normal because i just finished cycle couple days ago or it is too low even for a tank that just done cycling?

OK, first acclimation has nothing to do with how long the animal has been in the bag. If that is what this guy thinks he's an idiot, JMO, and should not be working at the shop. Acclimation is for the fish to "adjust" to water temp. salinity, trace elements, calcium, all of these things that are always different from tank to tank. The temp of the bag will change just from the store to the house. There is an acclimation link <

over there, that will tell you how to acclimate. The best method is the drip method.
Second, acclimating in seperate bags, you acclimate that bag they are in from the tank they came from to the tank they are moving to, don't mix them.

think about this if you dont need to acclimate inverts why did the sales person put the stuff in two bags not one big one. the crabs are not going to eat the snails?

ii have no idea what kind crab it is (nor does the LFS guy....) it is a tiny white crab have a body of 0.5 inch wide, and 1 inch size include claws+legs. the crab have little dark color dot on the back and 2 large claws, but he have this fan looking mouth part which it use to wave in the water to gather food (?) the crab stay with all the snails in LFS' tank, and with bunch of mushrooms. i saw it in that tank for a while, the LFS guy told me it is a hitchhacker and give to me for free (it is somekind Anemone Crab?)

also just want to make sure, pure water/tap water have 0 ppt fof salt (1.000SG) right?

i cant tell you what the crab is with out a pic if you can post one. and as for tap water being 1.000 I have no Idea ive never tested it if you want to know for sure call your water company and ask them were the water in your area is testing out at or try google
