Question about aragonite vs live sand

We just replaced the Hawaiian Puki Shell substrate and put in 40 lbs of aragonite. We have 25lbs live rock in 29G tank. We have 4 fish (which are small and reef safe) and are planning on buying some live coral. We have 2/55 watt Power compact lights and a hang on sand filter and remora skimmer. My question is whether sea cucumbers and other various animals that clean sand by eating it and spitting it back out will do that with aragonite? Does anyone know? Also, will the aragonite become "live" after being exposed to live rock. I had heard that it would. Thanks for any info on these matters. ;)

Yes, most sand around reefs is arragonite anyway.

Yup, that's the plan. Getting ls to seed the dead sand speeds up the process a little, but it is not necessary.
Congrats on your conversion! You won't be disappointed. I have a 29 gal too. One of these days I'll do that switch. :)
