Question about BTA

I know this may sound dumb but what are BTA made of, I mean do they absorb water form the tank to expand and stretch out? Now my question is if they do absorb water is it possible for them to carry ick? And if so how can you take care of this?
Thanks

Ick will not affect inverts. Yes an anemone is mostly a bladder filled with salt water. It will not get ick.

Ok I understand that it will not get ick but will the water inside the anemone have ick?

Interesting question, but anemones pretty much totally deflate in tansit so what your asking is if the water in the bag with them is safe, and my answer to that would be no. The anemone should have no problem with being exposed to air in the breif seconds it takes to transfer it to a bucket with some of your tank water in it after you temp acclimate it.
Personally I come from the line of thinking that ICH is always present in a properly maintained tank, but will not break through the fishes natural defenses if the fish is healthy and not stressed.
