question about clowns hosting...

My tank is fairly new. I have 2 clowns and a few snails. I was chatting with my LFS about a paticular coral called a "frog spawn" he claimed if my water was clear i could sustain one for my clowns this warly. Is this true? My water has been perfect for 2 weeks now...just dont wanna move to fast. Any input?

I would wait a few more weeks. Your clowns will host anything though.

Water quality aside...
If your clowns are too rough with hosting the frog spawn, they could kill it.

It is possible that they will host a frogspawn, but there is no guarrentee.
Also if your tank is new you might want to wait til it is at least a couple months old before you add corals.
Also you will want to be sure that you have a good light for the frogspawn.
Not that they require a lot of light just more than the basic tank light.

Hey buddy I got information for YOU. I got seated by a clown with internal parasites at Dennys the other day, so clowns can host plenty of things.

i agree with everyone wait a couple of weeks build up some nice algae then maybe get some strong lights (lfs would know what to give you) then add it to your tank.
or u can do what im doing get a big mushroom. mine are hosting a huge purple and green mushroom. and plus there is a chance that they will not host anything u put in there.
good luck!

Clowns will host anything? I've had an LTA in my tank for almost a year now. A friend of mine gave me his Perc when he shut down his tank. The little guy won't go anywhere near it.

I cant count how many people have come to these boards telling us how their LFS told them these lights would be good for anemones and they are by far not good at all. Ask here first before taking the advice of your LFS 100%. I do believe that some do give good advice but there are a lot that dont.

Was it captive bread? Did it have an anemone in the other tank? Let me add to my original statement in this thread. There are certainly some clowns that will not host anything at all. My point with that is that it does not have to be an anemone.
