Question about Coral

Ok, so I am new at this and I was curious....When I buy a "Coral" off of here, is it shipped with a rock base attached? Is it JUST the organism...if so how do I go about placing it where I would like it to be? Is it like an anenome, where it will find its own home?

soft corals like mushrooms, zoos, green star polyps, and leathers will usually be attached to a rock. hard corals like bubbles, frogspawn etc have their own skeleton which is not attached to a rock. these you can just place on the rock that is in your tank, given that you place the coral in a location where all of its needs are met (lighting/flow). they do not move around like anemonies do searching for the right spot.
