I purchased 3 new fire gobies. The two smaller ones picked on the larger on while they were in the bag. I watched it happen at the end. They tore up the tail fin on the largest one. My question is there anything that i should do for it. also will the fin fix itself? it is missing a little big of it and has some tares. Any advice about this would be great.

you should add vitamins to the food to help them regrow fins. thats all.
I have 6 in my 125 there is some fighting but after a couple weeks they calm down, and there fins were repared.
Good luck.

research is always a good thing before buying a fish.
Your only supposed to add one fire fish per tank. So return 2 of them asap.

Firefish gobies can be aggressive, a large tank really helps. I have three firefish gobies, but they were very small when I bought them, and now after six months they get along well, there is a peaking order and they are in a 28 gal JBJ with a six gallon refugium. If your fish are already picking on one the older one you may have a problem. They need alot of caves and LR to hide in to feel comfortable and it takes time.

The picked on each other when they were in the bag. they are not the purple ones just the regular red ones. We had a long trip back from the pet store. Now that they are in my 75 gallon reef tank they are not even bothering each other. I was just wondering what to do for the one that got picked on and if his fins will heal and regrow. We have allot of caves and tunnels for them to hide in. the only other fish in the tank are two blue chromis. (yes it is fully cycled just have not added many fish. i have two other tanks with fish in. i love the firefish so i just wanted to see if anyone thought it would have a chance to live and if it would heal. Thanks for all of the advice.
