Question about hypo

When treating the tank w/ hypo, are the fish suppose to get worse then better? The Grouper in my tank isn't showing signs of improvement and I've recently noticed a lump on his side. He went from scratching on the sand bottom to the coral. Also my trigger has a white dot and is now scratching along w/ the dragon wrasse. The trigger did not show signs of ick before starting hypo and the wrasse seemed to be getting better after 1st 4 days of treatment. I am certain that the SG is anywhere from 1.008-1.009 and I am feeding them garlic everyday w/selecon. Water parameters are w/in normal range w/exception of Ph around 7.9 this morning. Please help anyone!

The hyposalinity will not effect ick until the ick is in the free-swimming stage, so, really, the ick will be on the fish until the ick has gone full circle to that stage. That is why I always say that you continue hypo for 3 weeks AFTER all signs of ick are gone from fish.
There's not much chance that fish, once exposed to ick, will not ALL come down with it. That is why it is necessary to treat all fish exposed, and not just those that are symptommatic of the disease. Now the disease and treatment will have to run its course.
I don't know what the lump on the grouper might be, except, perhaps he has irritated himself from scrathing so much. Hyposalinity can take a bit of time. Be patient.
