Question about lionfish

My local pet store owner just ordered a black volition lionfish from her new fish guy and I am fairly sure it's a russels. It's pretty light colored and has tissue down about half of it's pectoral fins. Do vol. lions have much connecting tissue? Is there any other way to tell? Just curious because she doesn't know anything about it at all. She was suprised when I told her to feed it frozen because they had been feeding it guppies.

I have a Black v. lion. My lfs got him to eat frozen krill.( *****.) He was 38$. He is the coolest fish i have ever had. If they have him i recomend you buy him and try to get him to eat frozen.

Russels hardly have any spots on their fins, esp their tailfin. Russels have fewer colored stripes and they normally aren't fully connected around the body. They also are more pasty and less colorful than V lions.
