First of all Trey..... your advice is priceless If you ever want to sell fish, I am sure you would have a loyal following just from this forum....
Question for all.......I have 60 lbs of live sand and 40 lbs of live tock in my 92 gallon corner. Ugly brown algae (I think it is called Diatomes) builds up on the side wall and on the sand. It happenes fairly quickly and looks really ugly. I understand it is not good to vacuum the sand as it will disturb the bacteria.... I have a small but growing snowflake Moray Eel and I fear him gulping up on snails and crabs. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Very true. Also, as far as your sand is concerned, use something to stir the sand up. I wouldn't use your hand because of your moray!!!!

i wouldnt be too worried about the moray biting your hand while stirring sand. i always use my hand to stir the sand and have never been bit by my eel, just my trigger. i have only been bit by my eel once, i was rearranging my lr and got my finger alittle to close to his pipe and he bit me. thankfully he let go right away and didnt thrash or anything. but back on the algea i think the others covered it well. bo
