So, I have a diatom problem, but it's "wierd" Lights come on at 2 pm, tank is nasty by 3, and it starts getting better around 8. Lights off at 9, totally gone by 10.
Tonight I changed my rocks around due to adding a new fish (it has dawned on me that to do an all damsel tank i'm going to be moving rocks EVERY time I get new fish,

Thing is after moving rocks and stirring up the sand no more diatoms. The light has been on from 8:30 when I moved rocks, until now (6:45 am) with no return of diatom uglies. It's almost got me wondering if my bulb gets better spectrum as it burns longer... but I did use quikete sand, but we wont go down that path in this thread.
Anyway main question long story short, will it hurt anyone if I leave the light on for a day or two without a break?

I'm trying to see if my light/sand combo is causing diatoms or if it's an outside source (namely the nearby window).
