Question about my Outer Orbit HQI/T5

Hello- I have a question about my HQi. Currently I have a 60 gallon cube tank with a Outer Orbit HQI/T5...As for corals I have frog spawn, torch, zenia and a hairy mushroom...My friend helped me setup up the HQI and I think (the halide) it might be on too much for what I have inside the tank...it goes for 6-8 hours a day...
My question is what is the right about of time the halide should be on for this amount of coral?? Or is it the right amount?
Thanks

IMO you see them being run 8-10 hours per day. Mine run from 1:30pm until 9:30pm.
What makes you think it's too much?

I have a 75g tank with 2X250W halides with 2X110w VHO bulbs, that run 14 hours VHO and 12Hours halides. I cant see One HQI for 6 hours being "too much" I can see it being "too much all at once" if your lighting was inferior to that previous to the upgrade. you need to properly acclimate your corals to any major changes in lighting.
