Question about new Torch coral--alive or dead?

Greetings all,
Had UPS overnight a Torch coral yesterday. He has about 8 branches. The hard coral is a nice white. The ends of the live coral are purple. When the coral arrived, the water in the shipping bag was very cloudy greenish brown. When I opened the bag, there was a fishy oder--not really dead fish smell but not a wholesome smell at all.
Went through the acclimation process and added to my 80 gal. tank in great location with plenty of lighting. I didn't see any movement from him at all. This was from 1 PM to about 11 PM when lights went off. This morning, the aquarium has a "fishy" smell.
My lights are not due to come on until 1ish. I'm thinking about overriding my timers and seeing what happens.
Any suggestions?
THANKS!
james =)

Well, a few have read the first post but no reply. <SIGH> Can it take longer than 24 hours to see any activity in a Torch Coral?
Let's see if I can get an image in here.

Thanks for any advice,
james =)

Corals do retract somewhat at night time, but not to the point where the skeleton is exposed like that. I say it is dying, sorry.

Thanks Justin,
I'm coming to that same conclusion. I can get a credit from the online shop but it is just a shame.
Just posted photos of my 80 & 29. This guy I truly believe, was in serious trouble when he arrived. I think he would have really taken off if he had made it.
Here's another question. If he is dead, and he begins to decay, will that spike my ammonia? I know he is an animal and I'm guessing YES is the answer.
THANKS AGAIN!
james =)
