Question about Red Sea Prizm hang on protein skimmer!

Because we had the tank setup already for quite sometime and there isn't enough space behind the tank to put a large skimmer. We were thinking about using the prizm hang on protein skimmer. I saw it at a LFS today, she had it on her tank. Was wondering if it's any good? I have a 55 gal tank and wanting to have live rock after I get the protein skimmer. It would fit behind our tank perfectly and still have room between the skimmer and the wall, we don't really want to disturb the tank by moving it. Hoping this is a good skimmer... :help:

Hey, Hows it going? I have once been an owner of the prizm skimmer deluxe. Unfortunately I really only have horror stories about it. Very finicky to get it to run really well. And actually a bit on the noisy side. I would say that people are 50/50 with them. I have recently gotten the CPR bakpak 2. Its really not that much thicker than my prizm was. If you have the money id highly recomend you look into one. Hope I helped

I have 2, they are tough to get going and adjusted right...But once you get the hang of it, they work better than most of the hang on the back skimmers...
Only better ones are the CPR bak pak and the Aqua C remora.
I'd say the Aqua C Remora is the best..you can look it up online i don't think it's that much thicker..

Aqua C is like Ronco stuff "Set it and forget it" lol It's really plug & Play
Really awsome stuff..I've never really heard of anyone saying anything bad about them...
I love mine and it way outperforms my Red Sea.

A lot of people have told me about that. I checked behind my tank last night, I have just enough room for it with about half an inch left that would be between the wall and the skimmer. I have found one for about $215 online, Remora Pro with Rio 1400 pump. or would maxi jet 1200 be good enough? It's only $164 I have a 55 gal by the way...Thanks!!!

i have a red sea prism and it SUCKS. Get another brand, because this one is horrible. It is super finicky and it doesnt even work that well after u fine tune it.
