question about ro unit

if i'm changing 10 gallons of water/wk and filling my 30 gallon container once a week for top off, how long does it take before the ro unit filters need to be replaced? How often does everyone change them?? any help is appreciated :joy: ive had this new one for about 6 months

Usually about once a year. Depending on how much you use it. I just change mine yearly. .

Kent Marine generally reccomends that you change the sediment prefilter every 6 months and the membrane every two years. If you also have an DI cartridge it should change color as it goes bad. If you don't change the prefilter you run the risk of using up the more expensive membrane faster. Not to mention that your water quality may be impaired.
