Question About Salinity

Nah, I dont think it does... This can be proven when making new saltwater..When u mix salt in water, water is usually cold right?
Test salinity right after reaching appropiate levels in cold water.....
24hrs or so later, the temp is warmer( since it should be within DT's range)..
Now measure the salinity, it should not differ from starting point.(24hrs ago)
Thus, temp has no effects on salinity..

As far as I understand it temp affects specific gravity. It should have no bearing on the salinity if measured in ppt. A hydrometer will be affected by temperature since it is calibrated to a single temp, however a lot of refractometers automatically adjust based on temp. Once they are calibrated you don't have to worry about the temp of the water being tested.
