Question about the Aqua C Remora Pro's with the drain fitting?

What is the purpose of the drain fitting? Is there a difference in operation between the ones with the fitting and the ones without? I've looked around and can't really find an explanation of why getting the fitting is better, etc. then getting one without the fitting.

The drain fitting ( drilled fitting on the collection cup ) is to connect a tube or hose to go from the skimmer to a bottle or bucket to catch extra wet skimmate in so you dont have to empty the skimmer's cup so often.

Cool, that's what I thought it did, but wanted to confirm before ordering it. Can you just cap it off if you don't want to use it for now, or do you have to use it if you get the version with it?

You can cap them off some how or just put a short peice of tubeing on it and plug it or turn/aim the tubeing upwards.
