Question for electrition-lighting

Well it might. As far as the T5,T6,T8,T10,T12,T17 is concerned the T indicates it is a tubular shaped bulb and the # indicates the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. so the T12 is 12/8 or 1.5" and the T8 is 8/8 or 1" diameter. Some T12 bulbs will work with a T8 ELECTRONIC ballast. I have only seen 25 watt T12 bulbs that are capable of doing it and they are basically for energy savings. The lamps were 3000k, 3500k and 4100k so the color temp wasn't real high. So it really isn't worth the trouble unless you can find brighter ones that will work. If I'm wrong sorry, but I'm just telling ya what I read in this here GE lighting products catalog dated in 99'. Maybe things have changed in 2 years?

It all depents on the ballast, some will say that they can work for both T8 & T12 but the wattage is what you will have to be conserned with. If the bulb you want to use is higher than the wattage of the ballast, it will burn the ballast out quicker. Also FYI a Daylight NO flouresent lamp has a rating of 6500K and a color rendering index of 76,which is what I use.
