Question For Nano's

I Recently Got My 24g Nano Cube
I Have 20lbs Of Live Sand And About 30lbs Of Live Rock
Should I Take Anything Out Such As The Bio Balls, Rings Or Either Of The Two Sponges(one Near Water Intake And Other Is Above Bio Balls

I have a 24g aquapod, I run the same amount of rock and sand that your listing. Back when I started almost 2yrs ago people on this forum advised me to not run the bioballs, ceramic rings or the blue sponges. I did add a couple of lbs of live rock rubble in the first chamber where all that stuff would normally go, I have never had a nitrate or any other problem that I didn't cause myself. I do run carbon in a filter bag wrapped in filter floss for 4 days every month to polish the water. Hope this helps and good luck!

removing the biobals will help in the long run... remove from middle chamber place chemi pure elite on bottom then chaeto.. then a little submersilbe light tht you can find on the bay... and remove the filter cartridge from first chamber place your heater their .... add filter floss in first chamber by the top inlet ports to keep the surface skimming abilities of the cube and replace the blue sponge with something a little thinner and rinse tht out when u do water changes... you should be good to go... an i do the same with carbon i run it every once in a while... you dont really need it..

I started a 28G nano 3 mo. ago, I took out the stock filter, mine did not come with bio balls. I have live rock rubble in the filter compartment, live rock and live sand in the tank. I have great water levels and very clear water.
