Well my friend is moving away and is trying to get me to take in his clownfish. Normally i would happily take him in but i have had a clownfish in my tank since Aug. 07 and am worried about having a new guy come in and mess things up.
I know that your not supposed to mix clowns unless from the beginning and this new guy (both are Males) is about 4 times smaller than mine.
Just help me out in what i should do about this fish because he was probly just gonna flush him. If its a bad idea then i will take him back to the fish store.

I dont know if adding a smaller clown after a big clown is the best idea. I added a larger clown to my tank about 3 months after i added a smaller clown and now they are best buddies. If you could remove the larger clown long enough for the smaller clown to set up camp then add the bigger one later they may get along. are they both the same type of clown?
Before i added the larger clown the smaller one would just float on top of the tank, but when i added the other one they both hosted the anemone together.
here they are. buddies for almost 2 years now.

I'm not sure what type of clown they are. I think his is darker than mine (and alot smaller). Dont know if that helps any but i think that they are different types.

Take into account your tank size and clown species. I have a 125g and I have 2 maroons and 2 percs. They all get along fine. There is the occasional submissive/wiggly dance but not a torn or nipped fin in sight.
