Question on Claims...?

I really want to get a Blue Maxima Clam. I think it would awesome under my 14k HQI light.
However, I have read and heard that they are very difficult to keep.
.... How difficult....?
What are they things that I need.....? What would be some pointers from anybody with experience with this kinda claim...? Any help would be helpful....
Just for info sake I have 100gal with about 105lbs of LR, Lighting is a Reefstar 400w 14k HQI. Flow is about 16x with the help of a couple of Maxi Jets.... Any info or recommendations would be wonderful...

Easy question answered, your lighting is sufficient enough, Good water conditions, mature tank, good water flow and you should have no problem keeping a blue maxima, diet should consist of, cyclopeeze, DT'S and pyster eggs. THESE are one of the more hardier clams to keep under excellent water conditions, good water flow and proper lighting!

Thank for for your reply... Out of curiosity. When is your tank considered mature? I know mine is not yet there. Is there a rule of thumb here. Maybe a timeline perhaps....?

Tanks mature dependig on how you seeded it to start with. Usually after the cycle is past, you can start to see a mature tank at about 6 months to a year. Ealier and you are playing with fire. I know I did?
More experienced individuals go as early as 4 months.

Ok sweet. I thought it was longer then that.. I guess I am closer then I thought.
I have been holding off on getting a lot of animals because I wanted everything to be in good condition.
