question on cloudy tank?

Hey all I just added my LR and LS yesterday and the tank is extremely cloudy (as I expected it would be)... I have read on several posts that running a canister filter during the cycle is not good as it is designed to remove the ammonia and other acting reagents that are causing the cycle to progress is this true?
if it is not true then should I be running my skimmer & filter during the cycle to keep the water moving and help settle the tank?
and even if the filter & skimmer are detrimental to the cycle is it okay to run it for a few hours just to clear the tank up... or will that totally f up my cycle?
as always thanks alot for all your help

i ran mine thru the whole cycle. and it cycled just fine. The cloudiness is from the dust in the sand and it will be clear in a day or two. A hint if you ever need to add sand is to put your sand in first... lay a trash bag over it.. pour the water over that... as the water level rises so will the bag... and your tank wont get that cloudiness.. works like a charm..but anyways i ran my skimmer and filter the whole cycle and it was totally fine. didnt mess up my tank in the least or the cycle. Good luck
