question on feather dusters...

I had posted a reply, asking a question, to another thread before realizing it wasn't in the noob forum... anyway, here it is...
Feather dusters are here, just drip acclimated them for 3 hours... they're now in the tank. I carefully placed them at the bottom, on some live rock... I think they should be on the rock, right? The worm of one dug into the sand, and his crown has appeared. Do they need to be layed a certain way so they can manuever? Like, should I try to adjust them? All three are basically parallel with the substrate. Also, after they're settled, will they remain horizontal or do they stand up? Obviously, I want the crown to face the front of the tank so it can be seen.

Thanks for any help!

They are easy to care for and should be placed at the bottom of the tank. I place their tubes upright in the rock crevices near or at the bottom of the tank. If they do not like the placement they will adjust themselves slightly. If they get to stressed they will "pop" their tops. No alarm needed as they will grow one back in a week or so. They catch food particles with their feathers but if they blow their top off they cannot so, squirt very little food into the tube. I feed mine cyclo-peeze and also reef chili. HTH

Great, thanks for the info... does the base (opposite the crown), need to be touching a rock or the substrate? Like do that need to attach to something?

I put mine on the bottom of the tank and throw a little sand over thier booty just to anchor them a little bit, at first I wanted them to face out of the tank also, but the feather when open will create some drag and pull them a little bit to wichever positions offers the least resistance, so throw em in, about where you want them and let rock

For some reason I thought they'd stand on their own in the sand... obviously they're too long. I just wasn't sure if they needed something to anchor themselves in, so does their bottom need to be touching sand / rock.
Anyone else?
