I am looking to odering some fish food on line. I am a little confuse as to what is the correct food I should get for my salt water fishes. Is there a difference between Tropical and Marine fish food? Are they both the same? If not, which one should I get. I plan on getting a yellow tang, clownfish and some bottom cleaners.

you can make your own by preparing some raw shrimp, raw silverside, raw scallop, etc, putting the raw stuff in a food processor, adding some vitamins, and

Sound like your fish eats better food than me. How many people have time to prepare a meal for the fish. I think most people stick with regular fish food.

you make it once a month and it lasts for 2-4 weeks depends on how much you feed. it's no different than frozen food, except it's better. and it takes less than 10 minutes

If you are getting a yellow tang then you will need food with algae in it. Nori (dried seaweed) is a must for tangs.
There are plenty of frozen foods already made and available at LFS. I prefer frozen foods to flake or pellet, but always keep some pellet on hand for a quick feeding here and there.
Look for Marine fish foods. I like Formula 1 and 2.

in my experience , (I have a yellow tang and a maroon clown) you need to get frozen Formula foods , I use Formula 1 (Carnivore, good for you clown) Formula 2 (Omnivore, Good for your tang) Formula VHP (Very High Protien for sick fish) and then you need to get a seaweed clip and a pack of dried seaweed sheets ....... mix up your feedings with all of that stuff and your going to have a happy and healthy tank .............. also remember that the dried seaweed does not substitute your feeding , that is just a supplment for your tang to nibble on ...... my clown doesnt go near it

i agree with the frozen foods... they don't eat flakes or pellets in the wild. I try to keep it as natural as possible.
I disagree with the formula 1, though. I tried that (the LFS was out of marine cuisine), and the pieces of food were soooo tiny... there were no real chunks of meat anywhere... it was like someone left it in the blender for too long. Marine cuisine on the other hand has large chunks of shrimp, so i know my fish are eating. I also mix in some bloodworms as well. I clip some nori in the tank as well for them to snack on...

The best advice I got on this site regarding feeding was VARIETY!!! We have 2 Green Chromis, 1 Foxface, 2 Clown Gobys, & 1 Dragonet...and I have the following frozen foods:
Formula Two Frozen
Marine Cuisine
Emerald Entree
Mysis Shrimp
Squid
Brine Shrimp Plus
I offer a variety for the diff. fish, and also use flake (Cycolpeeze, Formula Two, Brine Shrimp Plus, Prime Reef) to add some variety. All foods/brands have diff. nutrient make-ups, so use the herbivore/carnivore/omnivore foods that your specific fish need, but try diff. brands of those foods.

there's a way to add vitamins without really adding vitamins.
white fish
shrimps
mussels
scallops
beef liver
those things will add the needed vitamins. the only 'unnatural' thing i add is spirulina supplements.
do a search on google you'll find products
