Question on noisey Red Sea prizm...

I just put a new prizm on my 65 gallon, and have found it exceedingly loud. I wasn't very happy about this, because my Eheim cannister is absolutely silent, and I enjoyed the noise-free operation. Anyway, I know I really need to have a skimmer (so I'm told), so I called red sea and had them send me the new 18-blade impeller. From anyone's experience, does that make a difference? Does anyone else have a trick or method for dampening the sound from this unit? Thanks in advance!!!

The Prizm's that I have seen/heard running, most of the noise is comming from the air hose.If you get a longer hose(like three feet) and attach it to the skimmer,,,and put the other end into a two liter pop bottle filled with cotton it will quiet it down considerably...The bottle works like a muffler on a car...
