question on using vinegar as a cleaning agent.

I've read here that vinegar can be used to clean certain things and that it is very effective. I have access to some really nice 6 gal buckets with latching screw on lids. Perfect for storage, mixing ect. The only problem is the buckets used to have drinking water chlorine tablets in them. Will vinegar clean out any residue and contamination and how would one experimentally test this out? Forgive me for the dumb questions--nooby

The buckets will be fine. Clean them with white vinegar then rinse really well. If you are still concerned, fill the bucket with water and add a dechlorinator. Let it sit for a day or two, then dump it and rinse again. It will be fine though.
