found in my attic a an old mercury vapour pendant with a screw in bulb.would a screw in mh bulb work in this pendant <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" />

If it is a mogul ?sp? socket you can but you would need to change the ballast for a MH ballast.

would a 125w mercury bulb with an acitnic blue be good enough for corals

Mercury vapor is WAAAY too yellow.even with blue supplimental lights it would not be suitable for aquarium use...Unless you really realy like ALGAE...

I have a friend who has a fish only setup and he is using mercury vapour with blue acitnics and has never had any algae problems.would the lighting be strong enough to support corals etc?
