Questions about curing LIVe Rock

Ok, I have heard many things but would like to know some of your opinions.
I'm curing about 25lbs of live rock in my 29gallon tank and have been told that changing the water too much can be bad, what do you guys recommend, also I heard you can speed up the process by scrubing the rocks with a tooth brush, has anyone done this, what do u think?

Advice from a novice:
I would do water changes every couple of days. You want to let the rock cure but you also want some of the life on the rock to survive the process so diluting the water by doing water changes might help. As far as the toothbrush...I would just pull off any definite die off...dead sponges and the like. I think scrubbing the rock will hinder growth.
I just let another ten pounds of cured lr cycle in a spare tank and I added it to my main tank after two weeks. It has lots of feather duster's, coralline algae, etc and the above method is what I used.

When curing my ive rock i have changed water in the past but now i just use test lits to monitor the spikes, and after they're over i begin to stock that tank! Pulling off the die off is a good idea as i too believe that scrubbing the rock with a tooth brush might do more harm than good. Just remember to skim the water good and monitor for the ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite spikes!
