Questions about my new Naso...

I received my new addition on Wednesday by mail. I put him in the quarantine tank (30g) and he is awesome looking (starting to get streamers).
I realize it may take a while for him to eat meaty food but he is going nuts for Seaweed Selects. When I put a piece in (about 2" x 2") he finishes it in about 30 minutes. My question is... Should I put more in? or Is it just like food and you can overfeed? I know in the wild they are grazers.
My next question is... Should I medicate even though he shows no signs of illness? I realize being a Tang, he probably has ick that you just can't see.
Please give me your thoughts on this...

I would not feed him anymore then you are already feeding him, you can over feed, plus he is in a small Q-tank. I don't beleive in useing meds for no reason if he is not haveing any problems then leave him alone.
Good LUck

I also have a Naso. She is great. But the lady at my lfs told me you cannot over feed with seaweed. She said you can feed them as much greens as they will eat.I feed her Nori 2 to 3 times a day, plus she eats at the normal 2 feedings of brine and plankton.Never a problem.I also had the problem of getting her to eat at first.Get some cubes of emerald entree.Thats what got her started on other foods.HTH
