Questions for people with Undulated Triggers.

First of all, what is the minimum tank size you would recommend? Also have you managed to put ANY kind of fish / invertebrate in your tank, and have it survive?
I got mine from my sister who was going to kill it after finding out it was aggressive. I got a small tank and everything so it didn't have to die... but then I was told you can't have ANYTHING with it, and will eventually need a 120 gallon tank minimum. Which is ridiculous. Why would you spend hundreds of dollars for a single inexpensive fish?
Any ways, It does seem to have a lot of personality, and I do like it. But if there can't be ANYTHING at all with it, I just can't justify spending the money for a large tank.

They are one of the triggers that could live comfortably in a 75-90 gallon system. While I've never owned one, a fellow hobyist has one in a 75 gallon. It's close to 7 inches and he can't keep anything with it. He's tried some large hermits but finds them dead in a few days. They really are a good "species tank" fish, unless it's a huge system with equally large, pushy tankmates, but even this is a gamble.

Well heres one idea I had. What if I was to get a large tank, but blocked off a section using rockwork or some kind of separator? Would any of the fish / invertebrates small enough to fit through the gaps be smart enough to avoid the section with the trigger?
That's what I would like to do at least. That way I could get a large tank, and not feel like it was a waste.

I rescued one from big als he was living in a 65 gallon tank that was filled to the brim with rock he was living in a 20 gallon but recently moved him to a 35 gallon where he has been doing fine will move him up as he grows I have a 65 long ready for him to move to.
They are insanely devilish fish but mine has never been able to catch the damsel that is living with him so he eventually gave up trying and now allows the damsel to swim near him. I think hes just getting him comfortable for the day he turns and kills him, but I am hoping to add a few more they are only damsels after all and will be a perfect fish to fill in the tank.
Mine's tank at one point was full of corals with the exception of moving the smaller ones he never touched a single one in a way to harm it
