Questions on a Stand...

I'm planning a biocube29 but was wondering if I'm stuck paying $130+ for a stand or is there an alternative? It has to be safe (climbing 2yr old) and practical. What do you use/suggest?

Almost anything will work. Just make sure it can hold around 290 lbs or so. A desk, or a well made shelf could easily hold it and would be much sturdier and cheaper than the Oceanic stands.

Well it depends on the footprint and how tall do you want it to be. With the store baught one's I do not think they had in mind a 2-yr old climbing on it. You should be able to make one for WAY! less than that. As far as your child is concern, it might not be a bad idea to attach the stand to the wall (this way it will be impossible to make it fall, at least for the 2-yr old) and make tall enough to where it will be very difficult for climbing

Well, I want it just low enough so that my kids won't be inclined to climb to see, but tall enough to be practical, oh and appease the wife
. I just would rather spend the $$$$ on tank stuff i.e. LR, LS, ect.
