Questoins involving Royal Gramma and Diamond Goby

1. Ever since i put in my scopas tang my royal gramma has not come out of his little cave. I see his head and he is breathing really fast. I know he is not stuck because i poked him out and then he swam right back in. will a scopas tang bother him?
2. I got a diamond goby in the mail on Friday to sift my sand and once i put him in the tank he found a cave and has stayed there. Is this usual behavior? I acclimated him exactly as SWF.com says as i do with all my fish but does he usually just hide for a while?

Royal grammas tend to hide in caves a lot, it probably feels intimidated by the tang but they are shy fish. Most people complain about this since they don't do anything but hover in their cave and defend but mine is usually out and about. Don't know anything about diamond gobies but as long as it seems healthy it's probably just getting used to the tank.

This is normal, when i first put in my Diamond Goby I didnt see him for like 10 days. I thought he died and was eaten by the cleaning crew.

wow! my diamond goby was out this morning! I found his little cave which was under a piece of LR in the sand. He was sifting the sand thru his gills and piling it up in front of his cave. He also has some periwinkle colored lines along with the orange dots. So cool! But my gramma has still been hiding in that cave. I dont think it is the tang tho because the tang goes up to every fish and looks at them, he is a curious guy. But all the other fish are fine having him around.
