+1 It's expelling waste.
If you can post a photo, we can be more certain. Watch the color and smell. I've heard that a dying anemone smells really bad.

I have 265w PC that are only 4 months old. 2 AC and 2 daylights. I have live rock in the tank. Right now he is in the back corners buried in the sand and looks like attacted to the wall of the tank.

How would I know it stunk underwater? Should I try to remove it and smell it?

Hi,

Do not remove your critter for a smell test!
A dead anemone looks like somebody hocked a luggie, streams of icky goo floating about. Like somebody did something really disgusting into your tank.
Sorry but no spell check for luggie??? But you surly get the idea.

Here is a picture. It has now detached itself and was floating around the current. I lifted it up and smelled it but did not have an odor. I placed it at the top of my rocks closest to the lights.

How long have you had it?
I hope all of your powerheads and intakes are covered, they WILL get sucked in.
What size is your tank?
How's the water parameters?

It's dead, it is not moving at all. It finally had a real strong "fishy" smell to it. It is a 55 gal with 0 amm, 0 tirite, 0 trates, and PH 8.2. salinty is 1.02

I wish you luck. I probably should not have gotten him yet but I only paid $6.50 for this nice looking anemone. So I am not out alot but that is not the point. I don't like killing things unless I have too.
