My boyfriend and I have two clowns { i believe they're the false clowns } I got the whole set up for him for his birthday a few months ago. They're awesome. It's our first tank, so, we're still learning.
We just moved. About an hour and a half away from where we were. We set the tank up and got the water right and everything and put our two clowns back in. That was two nights ago.
Last night, we noticed the clowns really going at each other. Locking lips and biting fins. A lot. The female ( we think. It's a little larger and tends to stay in the anemone while the other smaller hangs out near the live rock right next to it most of the night. ) kept attacking the male ( again, we think.. we're not 100% sure.)
Anyway, they normally nip at each other, but we've never seen anything like this. We didn't know what to do. We turned on the light and they calmed down a little.
But this morning, I noticed the smaller one has a white fuzzball looking thing under his lip.
Could it be from them fighting? If it is, is there anything we can put in the tank to help him heal or should we just let it happen on its own.
Or could it be something else? I've watched him as I'm unpacking all day, he's not breathing abnormally, theyre staying together like normal, he's not rubbing his face on anything ( like in fresh water and ick... I don't even know if ick is a possibility in salt water, so, that's why I'm here! ) he ate as well. He doesn't seem any diffrent besides the white splotch on his lip.
When they were "fighting" they were in the middle of the anemone. They locked lips and pulled each other around, then just swam in a circle, almost like a really weird game of duck duck goose, the smaller one shimmying every once in awhile
I can post pictures of his face if you need them. If I can get a picture of it that is. They don't like sitting still long enough to get a good one!
Any ideas or input or anything would be greatly apprectiated. we've grown quite attached to the little buggers and don't want to see anything happen to them.
We'd go to the local store, but we just have mainly *****'s and petsmarts around here, and they just give us diffrent answers every time we go into one asking a question. The ***** by us told us we have to wait 2 days before putting anything in.. then 1 month.. then 3 weeks... no ones on the same page.
so yeah, any help or input would be great.
So much for a quick question huh.
Thanks in advance!
