Quick MH Question

How often should MH bulbs be replaced? Every 8 months? And what is the best bulb brand? I know giesemann is very good but they are so expensive. Are XM bulbs good?

Growth? , Color?, Longevity? Wattage?
Each company as its claim to fame they promote when they are discovered to lack in some other area.
XM wont dissapoint, but still spendy.

I have CoralVue bulbs now. 250w 14K. When it comes time to change them I want something with a little more color and very crisp looking. Mine kinda have a yellowish tint which I dont like but I dont want a bulb that is too blue. I also want a bulb that will last a while and produces great coral growth.

XM or Pheonix 14k wont dissapoint.

They should be replaced when they are putting out less light. There is no set time.
