Quick quarantine setup

I have a 46 gallon tank that has been running for around 2 years, with mainly just fish and live rock, and a few soft corals. I'm thinking it's about time to set up a quarantine tank. Is there a quick way to go about this, using the water/sand/rock from my current tank? And what is the recommended size and equipment to compliment a 46 gallon main tank? Thanks for any help.

IMO a QT should be barebottom with some plastic or decorative fake corals or PVC tubes, no LR or Sand, using a canister filter for circulation.

all good but IMO hotb filter not canister filter
a 10gal tank a heater a hotb filter (one for like a 20gal to 40 gal will do good)
imo no light (light from the room will do)no l/r & no l/s.
the pvc 2in by 6in and 3in by 6in (a good place to hide)
When you do w/c in dt move it to qt/hos tank.
(if you can) try to run the tank inline with the d/t with ballvalves to close it off from d/t
and you will not need to run extra filter heater 24/7.But if you have no sump it is not ezey to do.
