Quick question about hypo

I've finally got my hospital tank up and running and am in the process of preparing to try hypo for the first time. My question, to bring down my SG it stands to reason that my water changes will obviously not be with salt water. Am I just using distilled? And my Hospital is 10 gal. Should I begin with only a 1 gal water change? Would love to start today if I get some feedback. Thanks.

yes you are just using plain top off water not salt a 10 gallon tank i would do prob 1/2- 3/4 gallon changes 2-3 times aday spread out of the course of the day, keep a eye on your ph as it will want to drop on you, make sure u are using a accurate SG reader

Best to do several small changes reather than a gal at a time in that size tank. Use your fish to gage how fast you go. If they are not stressed then you can proceed. But don't push it til the point that they are stressed.
