approx. how long does it take for green algae to start growing in a swft? do inverts need green algae to survive in a fowlr tank?

algae growth depends on each case, and for the inverts, which ones, if you are referring to herbivores, ie an emerald crab, yes they need food, but any algae, will do, or algae wafers, or kelp, you should suppliment their diets any ways, so that they can get a variety, but if you are referring to detrivores, they will find food, if you have fish
