You would probably want two.As one would not light up the entire width of the tank.250 watters will alsp produce ALOT of heat,Maybe you should think about two 175's.....

I knw it's overkill but I used 2 400w MHs on a 65 breeder, but the excess heat caused me to buy a chiller, but its been worth it <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" />

are MH's really worth it? Do they make that much of a difference?
I have FOWLR and want to start migrating to a reef, but the biggest cotst I see is lighting. I don't want to waste money but I do want a quality reef.

I got my MH ballasts and bulbs from <a href="http://www.aquaticlight.com," target="_blank">www.aquaticlight.com,</a> they were cheap and shipping was only 10.00 more! I got 2 400w ballasts and the bulbs for around 500.00, a great deal!
